Buddhist deity: Mahakala

Mahākāla is a common deity worshipped in different religions- Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. In Vajrayana Buddhism, in Tangmi (Chinese Esoteric Buddhism) and in Shingon (Japanese Esoteric Buddhism), Mahākāla appears as a protector deity, Dharmapala. In Chinese, he is known as Daheitian while in Japanese he is popularly known as Daikokuten.

In Sikhism, Mahākāla is referred to as Kal, who is the governor of Maya while Hinduism focuses Mahakala as the consort of Hindu Goddess Kali.

Buddhist Deities are the divine beings that are worshipped in various ritual and popular contexts by Buddhist. Earlier they were mainly enlightened Buddhas and Indian deities but as Buddhism was spread to other areas and country, other Asian spirits and local gods were also included in the Buddhist Deities. For example, Saraswoti, a Hindu Deva is considered to be Bodhisattvas by many Japanese Buddhists. Hence, the Buddhist Deities includes Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Yidam, Devas, and Yaksha.

Kangiten or God of Bliss is a god in Shingon and Tendai schools of Japanese Buddhism. He is considered to be the Japanese Buddhist version of the Hindu god, Ganesha. He is also sometimes identified as the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.Kangiten is also popularly known by the following names: Kankiten, Shoten, Daishoten, Daisho Kangiten, Temson, Kangi JIzaiten, Shodensama, Vinayakaten, Binayakaten, Ganapati, and Zobiten.
